was beautiful, sunny in the upper 70's, with light to moderate
winds. Bill Colburn took first place for the MCs, Jack Zimmerschied
first for the M-16s, Corbin Burdick first for the X-boats
and Paul Van Winkel first for Mini 12s. Other

online simulation using the
2009-2012 Racing Rules. It is
a fun way to learn the racing rules. It features a quiz to
test your knowledge.

Racing Rules of Sailing Available The new 2009-2012 Racing
Rules of Sailing are available here.
They go into effect January 1, 2009. A comparison of the old
and new rules is available here.
One change is that the two boat length circle around marks
has been increased to three boat lengths.

Beautiful
Lake Harriet, nestled in South Minneapolis, one of the
chain of lakes in the highly acclaimed Minneapolis park
system, is the place to be for sailing fun. From the
first week in May through mid-September, Lake Harriet
Yacht Club (LHYC) sponsors regattas, weekly club sailboat
races, Wednesday night races, as well as seminars for
sailors of all skill levels.
LHYC also maintains an active social calendar of outings,
parties and picnics for families, couples, singles,
the young and the young at heart. We’d love to have
you as a member.
Lake Harriet Yacht Club is an organization dedicated
to the support of sailing and sailboat racing on the
lake since 1941.

Before
most LHYC events on the lake (club races, Wednesday night
races, and Regattas) you will find us at the sailboat dock
and sailing pavilion east of the Lake Harriet Band Shell.
The Band Shell is located on the northwest shore of the
lake near the intersection of W. 42nd Street and W. Lake
Harriet Parkway. The sailboat dock is located next to the
boat launch. Parking is available in the lot north of the
boat launch, in the lot west of the Band Shell, or on the
parkway. Map
